Amruta is pursuing a degree in bioinformatics, preparing for a future at the intersection of science and technology. She is focused, capable, and quietly confident as she builds a path that once felt out of reach.
But her journey began in a very different place.
As a young child, Amruta lived with her mother and three siblings in a single room beneath a building. Life was unpredictable, and even basic needs were not always certain. She believed education could change her life, but she had no clear way forward.
She was five when she entered the care of As Our Own.
The transition was not easy. A new home, a new rhythm, and the ache of leaving behind everything familiar took time to process. In those early days, she was learning not just how to study, but how to feel safe.
Over time, something began to shift.
Through consistent care, encouragement, and a family that stayed, Amruta found her footing. She grew in confidence, discovered her abilities, and began to imagine a future that felt possible.
At Cornerstone Leadership Academy, that potential was strengthened through academic rigor, mentorship, and trauma-responsive care. She developed a love for science and the discipline to pursue it at a high level.
When it came time to take the next step, she faced a question she had never been able to ask before. What could her life become?
With the guidance of mentors who knew her well, Amruta discovered bioinformatics, a field that matched both her curiosity and her ambition. With focused preparation and steady support, she earned admission to a top college in her field and stepped forward with clarity. This year she stood first in her class.
“I always believed education could change my life. Now I know where I’m going, and I’m moving forward with my family beside me.”
Today, she is on track to graduate in 2028.
Amruta is not only building her own future. She has become a steady example for her younger sisters, a reminder of what is possible through diligence, direction, and belief.
Her story reflects what is possible when care is steady, long-term, and grounded in family. Potential is formed, direction emerges, and a future begins to take hold.
And Amruta is just beginning to see what is possible.
